For those who don’t know…I am a “Freida Readah”. I am a member of her Facebook group and I love Freida McFadden…but not in a creepy way. I entered to win an Advanced Readers Copy of The Tenant…and I won. I sincerely cried when I received the news that I had won a copy. I got this really cool image enclosed in the good news email.

The Tenant is the story of a successful businessperson named Blake Porter. He was on top of the world with a new home, brand new promotion, a loving fiancé and their pet Goldy (the Goldfish). Blake was fired abruptly and the fear of not being able to pay the mortgage made the loving couple reluctantly get a roommate to make ends meet. After a slew of unsavory prospects, incomes Whitney the answer to Blakes dreams. However, the neighbors start treating Blake differently…smells permeate throughout his home, noises can be heard throughout the night. Is Whitney the tenant from hell or is Blake on a downwards spiral from the loss of his job? Find out more in The Tenant releasing May 6, 2025.
My thoughts on The Tenant.
There are no bad books by Freida McFadden. Just an order of favorite to least favorite. The Tenant tops the cake. Number 1 of all things I have read from her. Twisty, no dead fish/shrimp in the curtain rods…I did mention Goldy...but that is because I find this minor character adorable. Did I finally figure this one out? No…not really. But those familiar with Freida McFadden’s writing either know it, claim to know it, have an idea or just plain lost in the sauce. I had an idea…but alas I did not fully figure this one out. I loved the novel; I hope others do too. You can purchase the book on Amazon, and it is available in Kindle format, paperback, and hardcover. You can buy the special Barnes and Noble edition from Barnes and Noble…for those looking it comes in a large print format as well.
