Cleaning Up Digital Clutter.

What is Digital Clutter?

Digital clutter is when your data, files and digital devices are unorganized. This can be a very full email inbox, a full voicemail box, storage on your electronic devices being full of items that are no longer needed or possible duplicated. In my case, I have 234 inactive tabs on my phone that haven’t been used for more than 21 days. My inbox for my personal email is well into the double digits. My want to print pictures and screenshots of recipes I wanted to make but never did are taking up precious space.

Why is Cleaning up Digital Clutter is Important?

Cleaning up digital clutter is important because it can slow down your devices.

It can save you money.

Why pay more for cloud space when you can just get rid of the things that aren’t serving a purpose.

Having a full inbox or voicemail box can cause important conversations to be missed. This can weight on your thoughts and cause unintentional stress.

What Can You Do to Handle or Limit the Clutter?

Identify the need to declutter.

Identify what the plan is to do with the clutter. Break that plan into smaller and more manageable tasks.

Setting a timer to help.

Set a limit and try to stick to it. Like if I open 3 new tabs to read a new blog post. I read the blog post before I open a new one.

Unsubscribe to things that no longer serve you!

Ask for help! There are people who body-double or people who manage inboxes. DA the VA is currently running a special on inbox management until the end of March 2025.

Make it fun. Turn on some music, audiobook, pod cast, or a movie you have seen a thousand times. Play bingo like the one below. Thank you Stickthisstickerco!

@Stickthisstickerco March Bingo card.

My plan for decluttering so far.

Sincerely check out DA the VA!
