Go Ask Your Mother-A Mother’s Day Gift Guide Sort Of…

Survey Says…

I surveyed 100 mothers and asked them what they wanted for Mother’s Day.

An overwhelming amount of women (90 percent!) asked for a day free from the daily mental load. A weekend just to themselves. No caretaking, running the household, or other family obligations.

Mental Load Be Easy on Yourself

The next largest response was for a spa day. A time to reset, pamper oneself with a manicure, pedicure, facial, message, etc. An overwhelming reoccurring feeling in motherhood that is expressed, is not feeling like oneself. They want to feel like the person before motherhood took over their identity. I also noticed in my survey that many women expressed they don’t regret motherhood, they just wanted to feel like they are more than just a mother.

Finally, several mothers requested items that they generally don’t purchase for themselves. Like a new pot for the garden, keepsake jewelry or a photo frame. Mamas want to be in the photo too…maybe get a mini photo session of her and the children or take the opportunity to update the family photos.

What do should you get the mother in your life? Ask her…don’t want to ask…think about the special mom in your life and do something special for her.

Handprint- trace the hand with a pencil, crayon, or paint them and stick them on a piece of paper…I am a sincere fan of all the handprints.

Handprints!

To make this place a heart shape down on a piece of paper and add paint to a hand and press over the heart. Pull off heart shape and enjoy. Add a date, name (and age) if you don’t want to think about it later.

Notes just to show you care!!!
