Prepping for the New Year

I am a planner…a recovering over scheduler…recovering people pleaser…I am a goal getter. We only have one life and I want to make the best of it. (If you want help to make the best of the 2025 email me at stephaniecreatesblank@gmail.com or scroll to the bottom for two of my recommended sources)

I enjoy my calendars. I have four; my phone, my cute cat calendar, my dry erase calendar, and my 12-month lay out paper calendar. Each serves its own purpose.

Why four?

Well…I used to use just the paper calendar. Then I couldn’t remember all the things on the calendar. So I started using my phone. I stopped using my paper calendar because I had “EVERYTHING” on my phone. It was redundant to a point. But then my little IPhone 3G crashed….and I lost “EVERYTHING”. So, I started using both the paper and phone calendar. Then my husband, kids, and extra stuff schedules needed to be updated often, and everyone needed to see it, so I bought a dry erase calendar. I received a cute 12-month calendar from a local nonprofit and hung it on the fridge. I have five now, because I bought an extra back up dry erase calendar….due to my kids getting creative on it.

Do you need four or five? No, but I won’t judge you if you do.

Planning in December.

I take out my 12-month calendar to mark out holidays, birthdays, days of importance, and loosely plan accordingly.

If I know I want to go take a trip to Salem, Massachusetts and want to go in the off season to avoid crowds. I know I want to avoid the month of October. I was told that an early fall end of our summer was a good time to go. So, I need to know when summer break is over and when school goes back in session and is there anything I need to be aware of.

New Years Resolutions or not?

I have goals I want to accomplish and I remember Dwanye ‘the Rock’ Johnson’s message back in 2020. “One day or day one…” there is more to the video clip you can find on YouTube or click HERE. Breaking down my bigger goals into smaller ones, I can celebrate along the way. (Even if I don’t I like to celebrate…because there is one life to live, and I want to make the best of it.)

You Don’t Have to Wait.

Unsubscribe to those things that you don’t open anymore. (Are they always selling something? Did you move away from a store that is no longer in your area and does not ship? Did you solve the problem and no longer need the emails?) Just hit unsubscribe. It may take a few days and a few times…I once signed up for the “once in the lifetime offer” went through the process found out it wasn’t a good investment and unsubscribed several times. I had to contact their support team before I sent them to spam. Well…I didn’t have too, I wanted to be nice.

Save money by unsubscribing to things you do not use anymore. I may not use Amazon Prime for shipping, but I love Firsts Picks and reading from Prime. Check out my year in review for reading in this article:

2024 Year in the Books being published December 30, 2024.

2023 A Year in the Books

2022 A Year in the Books Part 1 and 2022 A Year in the Books Part 2.

My library doesn’t tell me how much I saved but I did the math…just wow.

Have a website?

Make sure you update the copyright year. :)

Did you move and not update your address? Make sure it is current. :)

Before you send out a New Year email, make sure it works and does not say “ Hello! *insert name here *” Please make sure your links work. I truly hate the email that states, “Oops I forgot the link.” When 10 other email subscriptions said the same thing. I think that they are using all the same marketing done for you content. Depending on how much time I have on my hands…I actually check.

Need Help?
