Summertime Pause

My kids have been out of school for longer than I can remember….it’s been a while. Not that long…but our days are full of arguing, television, ice pops, and a few outdoor adventures. Here in Texas, it’s hot 90 percent of the year and the summertime adventures are before noon. Unless you risk burning your hand on the car door. Water and sunscreen are a must here. Frankly, I don’t have the brain space and motivation to argue to leave the house. Then we are hot, thirsty (because someone forgot their water or its “too cold”) and arguing because it is a day that ends in -y. Days are blurring together.

So, (to keep my sanity) I am pausing content production on my blog. In complete honesty my blogs posted in June 2024: Gulfport Mississippi- An Unexpected Surprise, and It’s Not Always Sunny in Florida were written last year in the fall. Perfect Pizzas- For a Night In was written for my Search Engine Optimization copywriting course. I am celebrating with a passing score of 99%. Look at my pretty paper below. (Ok…it is a picture. I am saving printer ink and paper)

Celebrate your accomplishments big or small.

I am proud of myself for passing this course.

Permission to Pause and Say No

If you need permission to pause, here it is. Your sanity is important. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It is important to your health and the health of others. It is perfectly alright to say “no” to something or someone.

3 Ways to Say No

  1. No. No, thank you. No is a complete sentence that doesn’t need further explanation.

  2. Thank you for thinking of me, however I cannot help (with the task).

  3. I have prior commitments and I am unable to assist.

Until Next Time

I hope you can find moments to enjoy during your summer. Find the courage to say “no” and not feeling guilty because of it.
